My Top 3 Tips for Packing to Move

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

The past few days have been a whirlwind of packing and I still have more to pack. I didn't realize how much "stuff" I had until I started packing and it is a bit overwhelming. My packing schedule got thrown off today because of an incident involving a subpoena (note to self: never sign anything when people come to your door and ask for signatures). Anyway...moving on...I'm not an expert on packing to move since this is my first time, but I figured I would share with you my top 3 packing tips that helped me out.

1. Pack items according to room.  Pack kitchen items with kitchen items, bathroom items with bathroom items, etc. You may be tempted to just throw items into boxes randomly, but that will make it more difficult when it comes time to unpack.

2. Label boxes.  This tip goes along with the first one. Label each box with the items inside and the room they belong in.

3. Pack a suitcase with necessities.  Pack a suitcase with some clothing, toothpaste, toothbrush, and other items that you use daily. If you get tired when you are unpacking and you haven't unpacked everything yet, you will have everything you need right in the suitcase.

I hope these tips help you out if you are moving for school or any other reason!

Do you have any packing or moving tips that you swear by?
